Baptism in Southport
Dan shares his story of transformation

Congratulations to Dan on his baptism! It's a joy to stand with our residents and Nat, our Pastoral Support worker had the privilege of baptising him on Sunday.
Dan shared his story with us:
"I was born in Liverpool. I grew up in Merseyside all my life. For the first time, maybe for as long as I can remember, I saw some light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve lived a hard life, not out of choice but because of family circumstances. I ended up living on the streets. I wasn’t allowed to see my daughters any more. I had no longer had contact with my parents and ex-partner. I had been abused as a child and a young adult which has left its mark on me.
About 5 years ago I came across Green Pastures who found me a place for me to live in and call my home. You have been the only people who have stood by me and been my friends.
4-6 months ago Jackie Stephens prayed with me and I asked Jesus to come into my life. I made a commitment to become a Christian and I know he has forgiven me for all my sins. He showed me that I need to deal with certain things before I can move on. I am really grateful for everything God is doing in my life. Even in the past when I didn’t know he was there, he kept me going.
I really enjoy doing voluntary work with Green Pastures and the lads. I want to be a Christian and follow Jesus for the rest of my life. I love Church, the family of God for all the above reasons. This is why I want to be baptised."
