The Government is pressing ahead with introducing regulations which include consultation and the introduction of national standards for support of Housing and a Local authority licencing scheme.

The approach to regulation by local councils varies across the Country. Some are already giving a high level of scrutiny to Exempt Accommodation claims and Support. Some are waiting for standards to be introduced and a licensing agreement.

To assist all our Partners, we are making this draft checklist available to all. It aims to help partners understand the regulations. Most of the items will be easily met, as they are already part of the regulatory environment. We will also work with you to develop the necessary policies and procedures which will help to run the scheme well and meet the requirements of local authorities.

The checklist will change when we know the outcomes of the consultation and when we are in a position to publish an additional aspirational standard.

Please get in touch with your Partnership Manager for more information and assistance, particularly if you find the checklist at all daunting.

This is the first interactive edition of Green Pastures’ internal checklist, which sets out the changing landscape of regulations and standards for supported housing in England only. It outlines the challenges faced by local councils in implementing these standards and reflects proactive steps taken by Green Pastures to facilitate appropriate standards within its partnership network.
